Earlier this week I was privileged to be party to the AutoCAD Civil 3d Subscription Advantage Pack preview webcast. I posted my delight on Tuesday with Go Figure Properties. This additional functionality helps sooth my surveyors soul and makes the whole automatic linework a hell-of-a-lot easier. [You here a but coming…]
But, the General Enhancements is for AutoCAD Civil 3d ONLY.
The Subscription Advantage Pack for AutoCAD Civil 2010 has the Roundabout Tool only. [Autodesk ImageModeler 2009 is not going to be developed any further as a standalone product– so it is a nice freebie…] There are appears to be no general productivity enhancements in Civil 2010.
This week started high with excitement, but sadly, I am disappointed. Our surveyors use Civil. In fact most of the technicians have only Civil. We did this because none of them need the Hydrology and Hydraulics tools, nor any of the MAP tools, that is until we dropped them to Civil.
In the mixed environment we have with a shared support directory and shared Toolbox – my Civil 2010 user installations show the Toolbox tools but the commands are unavailable. I am less apt to worry about the commands in the Toolbox, but the Right-Mouse-Click Figure Properties dialog box for users of Civil 2010 is an important update in functionality that is NOT there.
